The UBC Environmental Policy Association was founded in January 2016 by two International Economics students looking to share their passion for environmentalism with their classmates through extra-curricular discussions. After noticing a lack of active environmental policy analysis on campus, they decided to establish the EPA as an official club, with the goal of helping the student body be more aware and critical of environmental decision-making.
- Increase awareness surrounding global climate change policies and their ramifications
- Provide students with the opportunity to learn about environmental public policy in a casual, pressure-free environment
- Educate the student body to be more aware and critical of the environmental decisions governments, businesses, and NGOs are making
- Promote economic solutions to climate change
